Artwork Template Explanation

This diagram shows the layout of a CD-ROM
business card, but the requirements are the same for any shaped CD, or
custom shaped CD. The gray
area indicates the area where it is possible to silkscreen artwork. There
needs to be a band between the edge of the artwork and the edge of the shape
(1 mm clear area). This will allow our trained rats to gnaw the disc without
chipping the artwork. We will also need to have a locator line screened onto
your disc at the same time as the artwork is applied. This line should start
1-2 mm from the edge of the cut and radiate out directly from the center
hole to within 1-2 mm from the edge of the CD. The locator line should be
0.25 mm thick, and as long as possible. It should also be the darkest color
possible (darkest color used for silkscreening the artwork). For
custom-shaped jobs, we will add the line during balance evaluation for
custom shaped CDs. Remember, if you have any questions at all about
your artwork, please call us at 817.410.1222, or e-mail mdunn@customcut.net.
- CCT can accept artwork in most major formats.
*.CDR, *.JPG, *.GIF, *.DWG, *.EPS, *.AI, as well as many others.
- CCT will require locator lines in the waste
area of the CD. This line will allow us to positively locate the disc during
cutting. CCT will specify the location of the lines for custom shapes during
analysis.
- CCT will need to know the amount of information
that the CD will ultimately hold. This will determine the minimum cut radius
of the disc.
